​I love sweets. I love how they look, I love how they taste and most of all I love how they make people feel. I did not come from a very large family but one thing was constant; we celebrated with something memorable on the table.

I loved how a beautifully decorated cake grabbed your attention whether placed on the fanciest display at a 5-star event or on the kitchen counter for a casual gathering.
​Actually, I've always considered myself more of a cook than a baker. My first experience in the culinary arts was back in the early 80's during a private lesson at the exclusive Ma Maison Restaurant in Beverly Hills, California.  At home, my mom and I enjoyed making apple pies and French madeleines but the true joy was seeing how all the fresh ingredients came together and made something delicious. She taught me that food presentation was an art and her bookshelves were lined with picturesque cookbooks from around the world alongside entertainment books by Martha Stewart and Colin Cowie. Learning that food shouldn't only taste good but how it was presented on the plate was equally important. 

As I grew older I began to explore the more artistic side of my personality and eventually went to school to study art and design in Boston. Fast forward to motherhood and two amazing children, my true interest in baking started with them! I not only found it fun (and quite relaxing) but cake and frosting became another medium for me to express my creativity. So here I am doing what I love, in my own kitchen.

Sugar Dust, LLC creates couture and artisanal cakes and cupcakes crafted to your specifications.


Everything I make is solely from scratch with the highest quality, premium ingredients.

Locally sourced Wisconsin dairy, organic farm fresh eggs from pasture raised chickens on local farms surrounding Madison, specialty dark chocolates, rich ebony cocoa powders and real pure cane sugar.  All of these create a mouth-watering, tender cake and my luxurious Swiss Meringue Buttercream. 

​My cake creations are expressive and modern, giving you a unique piece for your wedding, birthday party, baby shower, bridal shower or sweet tooth. 



Cakes begin at $3.50 per serving (non-customized) and each cake is made from scratch to your specifications.  Remember that custom cakes take lots of time (from consultation, design, prep, execution, decoration, clean up and packaging) and usually begin at $125+ for an 8" cake. All of my cakes are frosted in my velvety Swiss Meringue Buttercream.

I am currently booking about 2 months in advance. In the event I have an opening sooner, I do require a minimum of 2 weeks  advance notice to avoid a rush fee.
